I am a coach and facilitator. I work across a network of states, think tanks, researchers, and foundations. We are trying to change what happens in classrooms by shifting mindsets and practices across the education sector. I am committed to a system of schools where students of color and those in poverty are thriving. I provide facilitation, strategy, and coaching services to leaders and teams within school districts, universities, nonprofits, foundations, and state Departments of Education. I started as a teacher and worked in leadership roles in districts, nonprofits, and consulting firms.
Traditionally our work happens in classrooms, conference rooms, and on Zoom - but let's also take to the trails. I've learned to lead that approach: I'm a certified running coach with RRCA and I trained in first aid. As a leadership coach, I completed the Immunity to Change facilitators workshop with Minds at Work and granted by ICF. I was part of the School Systems Leaders Fellowship. My approach integrates ideas from instructional leadership, group dynamics, adaptive change, Agile Scrum, Lean Startup, allyship and antiracism, growth mindset, Suzuki method, Atomic Habits, Brene Brown, and Atul Gawande.
My policy and strategy work focuses on: restart and recovery planning, standards-aligned and culturally responsive instruction, high-quality curriculum and professional learning, teacher leadership and continuous improvement, Ed Prep Programming, teacher residency, and diversifying the teacher workforce. Alongside clients and partners, I work to advance new legislation, offer and allocate new funding streams, and shift mindsets/narratives/practices across large and complex systems.
